LESSON #2 "YOU ARE YOUR ACTIONS"

It’s often good to look at yourself as others see you. Others see you by what you do – your actions, while we often see ourselves as what we think.

So which is reality? It’s probably a bit of both, but most people are caught up too much in their own perception of themselves – who they think they are.

Your actions, good and bad, will affect other people’s perceptions of you, what you can accomplish during your life, the type of life you live, and the type of legacy you leave as you make your way through life.

Remember to put into action deeds that reflect how you want to be thought of by others or how you feel is a correct way to be remembered. Actions speak louder than words and are remembered longer.

LESSON #1 "TOMORROW" DOES NOT EXIST

You need to remove the belief that there is a tomorrow. Saying to yourself "I will do it tomorrow", "I will start tomorrow", “I will wait until tomorrow" can be eliminated from your mental vocabulary. The fact is there is no such thing as "tomorrow".

I can prove there is a "today", I'm writing this post for you today and you will read it "today". It's impossible for you to read this post "tomorrow", so actually, like all actions we have ever undertaken, "tomorrow" has never really existed at all, it's a fictional place in time where we have always placed things that we don't want to deal with. It’s a place we have created for convenience, and as an excuse to put things off. Therefore eliminate "tomorrow" from your mindset. This is the most important step.

Everything must, by nature, start and finish "today". Tasks don't have to be completed in the same day, but start them. That essay that needs to be written, that book you have always wanted to read, that correspondence you should have sent to a friend, organizing your messy room, that better food choice, that rubbish bin to be emptied, do it now or start it now, today.

You will begin to wake up in the mornings and you're at your ideal weight, you're room does not need tidied or organized, that essay has already been completed days ago, you're on chapter 6 of that book you always wanted to read. But the best thing is all the free time you now have to do other things. There are now so many tasks that are either already completed or about to be completed that you have this constant feeling of achievement, of moving forward with your life. You are doing so much more in a 24 hour day and you have lots more free time to enjoy life as well.

Eliminate the "tomorrow" mindset from your mental vocabulary. Start the habit of "acting now" and begin to be the master of your life, now, today.

An Introduction...

I really enjoy our talks together. I wish we could spend more time talking together but with you at college now our talks will occur less often.

You're a smart girl and you are going to do great things and have many adventures. I will always be here if you need someone to listen to your problems and for assistance.

I thought this Blog would be a good way for me to explain some of the lessons I am learning myself that may also help you. I'm going to post these ideas for you to consider. The blog will be between you and me, our personal "together time" while we can't see each other much.
